August 5 | Why Am I Here?

Series The Purpose Filled Life

Scripture Acts 17:26-27, “26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.”

Lesson 5 | Why Am I Here?

You are here on earth to have a relationship with God.  Paul in the above verses was preaching to a group of pagan philosophers who were constantly seeking for the “meaning of life.”  Paul gave them what we now call, “The Christian World View.”  In other words, he shared with them the meaning of life from a Christ-centered perspective.

The Christian Word View can be summed up in the following points, (a) God created all things, (b) People are apart of God’s creation made uniquely in His image, (c) Mankind was created to have a relationship with God, (d) When Adam sinned man was separated from God, and lastly, (e) Through Jesus Christ’s work on the cross all people can have restored relationship with God.

Therefore, you are here on earth to have a relationship with God restored through Jesus Christ.  You are to ask, seek, and knock at heaven’s door until you find peace with God.  Then for the rest of your life you are here to be fully satisfied in fully enjoying God.

When you seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness all other things will be added to you, Matthew 6:33.  Such as your (a) family, (b) ministry, (c) career, (d) legacy, and (d) friends… these will all come into place with God’s blessings when you keep Jesus in the center of all you do!

Can you think of a better way to live your life?  I can’t!  For me and my house we will serve the Lord!

Reflection | Is Jesus the center of who you are and all that you do?

Action | (1) Come to Jesus and be born again if you haven’t already, John 3:3. (2) Repent of any false views you may have about the meaning of life.  (3) Lastly, seek first God’s Kingdom and righteousness in all you do!
